SNOWMOBILE
SNOWMOBILING
The Northeast Kingdom's most exciting experience...
...Enjoy the pristine beauty of Vermont's countryside as you have never seen it before. You can ride the thousand of miles of magical winter highways right from our hotel. We have a 4-mile access trail that leads you to the Route 2/5 corridor trail. From there you can go anywhere! You can bring your own snowmobiles, or you can rent locally from All Around Power and have them deliver snowmobiles to our back door. Snowmobiling allows you to view miles of Vermont's backcountry scenery, see wildlife in their natural habitat, and socialize with your friends on the trails at pit stops along the way. More than 3,000 miles of wide "corridor" VAST trails and two thousand miles of secondary trails will lead you through spacious fields, high mountaintops, remote farmyards, and hospitable villages. Your day will be spent in the cool fresh air while you cruise through and over some of the majestic mountains and enchanted woodlands of the Northeast Kingdom.

SKI & RIDE
  SKIING & RIDING
Burke Mountain
...Burke Mountain is a classic New England Ski Mountain, with 2,000 feet of vertical drop, 43 trails and glades. Burke sports skiing for every ability (30% Novice, 40% Intermediate, & 30 Expert) and more than 100 acres of glades, Skiing at Burke Mountain is affordable, accessible, adventurous, and fun for the whole family. To say that Burke is not crowded would be an understatement. It feels like your own private ski mountain. The trails, however, are worthy of any big mountain resort! In fact, more than thirty US Olympic skiers have sharpened their skills with training at Burke Mountain Academy. Burke has a wonderfully gentle wide-open beginner slope with a handful of trails serviced by a double chair from the base lodge. A quad chairlift from mid-mountain brings you to the top where you find scenic winding blue cruisers and tough double black diamond trails with enough bumps to make your legs ache. Burke also has some of the best glade skiing in the Northeast. With an average of 250 inches of snow and 75% snowmaking, there is plenty of coverage. The longest trail, East Bowl is 2.25 miles long. On a powder day you can make fresh tracks all day long! Take a break and have a snack in the lodge, or enjoy the full services and warm atmosphere of the base lodge. Lessons and ski rentals are available. And the Cub Den Day Care is open weekends and holiday periods during the ski season.

Burke Cross Country Center
...The most natural way to experience the winter wonderland of the Northeast Kingdom is to hit the backwoods on cross-country skis or snowshoes. Vermont Life Magazine says that "....ski touring enthusiasts will enjoy some of the prettiest and least tamed woodlands and hillsides in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom..." Burke Cross-Country Ski Center, with more than 80 kilometers of skiing, offers a wide variety of trails to suit every skier. All trails are at least 12 feet wide and are meticulously groomed. Fifty-five kilometers are groomed for skate skiing. The loops range from roughly 1 to 12 kilometers. The atmosphere is non-competitive, with sensitive balance between quality skiing and concern for the environment. This classic Vermont style has given Burke recognition as one of the best cross-country centers in New England. You will see plenty of wildlife on your trek. Moose sightings are common enough that they are posted on a board in the lodge! Lessons and XC ski rentals are available, and the lodge offers a snack bar and a ski shop. ..
